The hotel is less than 3 km away from the center.
30 minutes of walking distance.
15 minutes with public transport.
13 minutes with a bike.

What sizes are the rooms?

The smallest one accommodating two people is 25m2.
While the biggest one is 80m2.

Check the sizes for all of them on our boats page.

Do you have a 24 hours reception?

No we don’t. Not yet. We’re sorry.

Reservation

How do I make a reservation?

Visit our reservation page to check for availability of your favourite boat! Enter in your desired check-in/out date and the number of guests staying in the boat (children included). Afterwards choose the boat that suits your wishes and fill out the form.

Before you do, or before you even make a reservation, view the cancellation policy.

Is there a minimal number of nights I must book?

2 nights is the minimum.

What is the maximum number of nights I can book?

You can stay as long as you want.

We are with a group, can we book more boats?

Of course!

Currently it’s not possible to make book more boats than 1.
If you wan’t to visit us with more than 6 people (which is of course something you would want to do), just make another reservation for a another boat with the same guest details!

Are extra guests allowed in my boat?

No. Our boats can only occupy a certain amount of people.
We don’t have the capacity or the extra mattresses to make room for more people in the boat.

Payment

How do I pay?

To pay for your reservation, please go to the reservation page.
Fill out the form and choose an option to pay with deposit or the full amount.

Deposit payments are 50/50. Meaning you pay 50% now and 50% later.
If your check in date is in the next 30 days of the reservation, we are obligated to charge you the full amount.

After completing your reservation, you will receive several emails confirming this with the details.

What forms of payments are accepted?

Currently we only accept credit and debit cards from Visa, MasterCard and American Express.
We plan to expand the possibilities in the near future.

Are the rates per person or per room?

You pay for the whole boat per night.

Are there any additional charges?

We are required to charge you for tourist tax and vat.

Tourist tax is 4% additional to your total price.
Also including 6% VAT.

A small cancellation fee is also added to your total.

Do I need to pay a deposit/security bond?

A security bond of EUR 200 is required upon arrival for incidentals. This deposit is fully refundable upon check-out and subject to a damage inspection of the accommodation.

Where can I get a copy of my invoice after departure?

If you travel for business, or you just like paper work.. (weirdo). Please contact us before, during or after your arrival with all the details so we can send you one. Call +31 6 15211299 or email [email protected]

Are my credit card details safe?

We promise to deal carefully with sensitive information.
Your credit card details are safely stored in our database.
We automatically delete any credentials you provided us 10 days after your check-out.

Facilities & Services

Do you have WiFi?

What kind of question is that?
Of course we have WiFi..

Can we park our car?

Yes we can!
Upon your arrival it is possible to park your car in our own parking spots.
But we only have 3. So please let us know when you make a reservation.

What is included in my room?

All of our boats come along with

– Free WiFi
– Bath or shower (or both)
– Hair & Body Products
– Kitchenette (no cooking)
– Towels & Linen
– Coffee & Tea
– A lake view

Hmm what else.. a fridge, coffee machine, electric kettle, some rooms, some beds, heating, .. a toilet ofcourse, one of them has a cinema, and our great service!

Is it possible to cook in the boat?

Cooking is not possible in our boats.
The boat however does have a kitchenette.
Which includes dishes and silverware. Together with a coffee machine (limited cups available) and an electric kettle for your tea! And much more..

Is my furry friend allowed in the boat?

Our furniture don’t like fur on them. Trust me, I’ve asked.

So dogs are not allowed in the accommodations?
I’m afraid not.
Unless it’s a puppy! We love puppies!

Can I smoke in the boat?

Smoking inside our boats is prohibited!
That means it’s not allowed.

What about vaping?
That’s smoking..

That’s totally different.
No it’s not.

Where can I smoke then?
As long as it’s not in the boat, we don’t care.
But don’t litter with the butts.

Is there bed linen and towels in my room?

Fresh towels and linen are already set up for you in the boat.
Did you really think you had to bring your own?!

Is there coffee and tea in the boats?

Yes there is! But in limited availability.

Is the accommodation accesible for disabled?

We are afraid that the boats are not suited for disabled people.
It can be very hard to enter and move around inside because of the steps and stairs.
But if you like a challenge, you are more than welcome to try!
We will try our best to make it as comfortable for you as we can.

Can I rent a bike somewhere?

Our good friend Rahtour rents out bikes!
It’s about a 5 minute walk from our hotel.
Pay him a visit and make sure you tell him who sent you 😉

Do you have baby cots?

Yes we have one! We love babies!

What optional services do you offer?

Is it someone’s birthday? Do you want to surprise your beloved one with a romantic package including bubbles, flowers and chocolate? Or do you have something else to celebrate? Book your boat together with an arrangement and we will make it happen! Anything is possible at Asile Flottant.

And other than our excellent service, we also provide some canoes for you to cruise on the waters of the IJ.

Will the boats be cleaned in between?

No we don’t clean the boats in between.
But if you need some fresh towels or some more coffee, we will be at your service.

Do you provide taxi service?

Yes, and no. First of all we definitely don’t recommend using a taxi in Amsterdam.
Why? It’s expensive and you will probably be scammed anyway.

Uber is a good alternative.

But I am too lazy and want to use a taxi!
Ughh, fine.. call these numbers to make an appointment.
They have a discount of 15% on your way to Schiphol Airport.
And can take up to 8 people with them.

Arrival

How do I check in?

We currently have no 24 hour reception. I know, it’s sad.
Our meeting point is in front of the hotel gate.
From here you will be greeted by Yasin or Irene, the managers of the hotel.

When can I check in?

Our check-in time starts at 14:00pm.

What documents are required for me to check-in?

If you could bring your reservation details, that would be great!

We arrive early in the morning, what time can I check in?

We can only make early check-ins if the boat is clean upon your arrival. We promise to try and have your room ready for you as soon as possible.

We arrive late at night, what time can I check in?

Did I already say we don’t have a 24 hours reception yet? Oh I did?
Therefore, for a late check-in, please contact us about your time of arrival.
We would appreciate it if you could call or text us a half hour before you arrive at the hotel.

Departure

When do I check out?

I guess if you really have to leave us then you can do so before 11:00am.

Is it possible to store my luggage?

Is it possible to store your luggage you say?
Well the good news is yes you can!
The bad news however is not at our place.

Central Station offers limited luggage lockers.
